International Art & Found Day
March 12, 2025

For the first time ever, the Sarasota branch of the National League of American Pen Women is thrilled to participate in the 2025 Art & Found Day! This global art movement celebrates kindness and creativity by inviting artists to share their work through a unique scavenger hunt. On March 12, 2025, neighborhoods across Sarasota and Manatee counties will be sprinkled with hidden treasures—free, wrapped artworks waiting to be discovered by lucky passersby.

What is Art & Found Day?

Art and Found Day is an international initiative that fosters connection, joy, and surprise by bringing art directly to the public. Artists create and package their works—be it paintings, photographs, handmade crafts, or written works—label them with #ArtandFoundDay, and leave them in public spaces for anyone to find. Social media allows finders and creators to connect and share the excitement using the hashtag #ArtandFoundDay and tagging @ArtandFoundDay.

How It Works:
  • Artists carefully package their creations with a note about the piece and themselves.

  • Each package is labeled with #ArtandFoundDay and placed in public spaces.

  • Artworks will be scattered throughout Sarasota and Bradenton communities on March 12, 2025.

  • Share your finds or drops on social media with #ArtandFoundDay, tagging @ArtandFoundDay, and don’t forget to tag us too—@SRQPenWomen on Instagram and Sarasota Pen Women on Facebook

Sarasota Pen Women Participation

Our branch is proud to showcase the work of over 50 professional women artists as part of this year’s Art & Found Day. Each hidden package represents the incredible talent and creativity of our members, whether that be artwork or published books.

Founded in 1957, our branch has long been a cornerstone of the local artistic community, offering inspiration and support through events, scholarships, and outreach programs like our annual Launching Leaders in the Arts, which awards scholarships to talented art, music, and writing high school seniors in the Sarasota & Manatee area.

To make the scavenger hunt even more exciting, we’ll be releasing a list to help you find some of our hidden creations! Keep an eye on our social media for updates.
