On March 9, residents of Grand Bay in Longboat Key got to hear the personal stories of how six wonderful—and varied—artists, came to their art. The artists, all members of the Sarasota Branch of the National League of American Pen Women, were part of a Lecture series given monthly during season at Grand Bay.
From the still life and florals of Chris Connors to the incredible portraits of award-winning Dirce Kennedy; from the three-dimensional, intricate metal work of Pamela Olin to the nature photography of Polly Curran; from the abstractions of colorist Meg Krakowiak to the children’s book illustrations of Barbara Jendrysik—the audience was wide-eyed at the talent surrounding them!
