We are thrilled to celebrate four of our Sarasota Pen Women members—Jana Millstone, Maddy Ginsburg, Ellen Mason, and Janice Newman—as they are honored in the Petticoat Painters City Hall Cultural Heritage Exhibit: Now You See Us, 1953 – 2025.

The Petticoat Painters are one of the country’s oldest continuously exhibiting women’s art groups, formed in 1953 when opportunities for female artists were limited. Over the years, they have continued to challenge perceptions, providing a platform for women in the arts to be seen and recognized. This special exhibition at Sarasota City Hall highlights their legacy and ongoing contributions to the local and national art scene.

Special Opening Event

Friday, March 21, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Program: 4:30 – 5:00 p.m.

Join us in celebrating this incredible milestone and showing support for our fellow Pen Women as they continue to make their mark in the art world.
