The Color of Genius - January 2022 Luncheon

Writer: NLAPW Sarasota Branch WebmasterNLAPW Sarasota Branch Webmaster

Do you believe in miracles? That anything is possible? Well, January’s program for the Sarasota Branch of the National League of American Pen Women may have made a believer out of you. Members and collaborators, Wilma Davidson and Diana de Avila, authors of Soldier, Sister, Savant spoke about the miracle gift of art talent that arrived to her after an exacerbation of multiple sclerosis and a brain injury in 2017.

The duo shared their process of telling Diana’s story and the brain’s mysterious rewiring with the arrival of her gift of art. Enjoy the photos taken at the luncheon and the program. Thanks to our photographer, JoJo Fusco, for capturing these moments!
